What Is Quran Memorization?

Quran memorizing techniques
Quran memorizing is not such an easy task because it has 30 chapters and 114 Surahs and often is called the Sea of similarities. But this is not impossible, because Allah Himself says in
The Holy Quran:
“And the fact is that we have made the Qur’an easy to remember. What is there to do now?” (54:17)
There are some special techniques for memorizing the Qur’an so that you can easily memorize the Holy Quran:
- In order to memorize or read the Quran, it is important to first read the Norani Qaidah.
- After that, start memorizing the last chapter (Parah) because the Surahs of the last chapter are small and are also recited for recitation inside the prayer.
- You should have a copy of the Quran (Mushaf) with you permanently.
- Try to memorize a few verses in the beginning, though memorizing a verse daily but remember it well.
- Gradually increase the time duration as well as the number of verses.
- Recite the Quran in prayers.
- Memorize It with the help of any teacher who knows the rules of Tajweed or with the help of a teacher who recite the Quran in a beautiful voice.
- Make dua’a for remembrance of the Holy Quran.
- There are three terms used in the memorization class:
- Sabaq (New memorization or new lesson):
This is the number of verses which you will learn on daily basis
- Sabqi (Newly memorized Portion):
The part of the chapter (which you are learning), which you have memorized before is called Sabqi. This part is very important because it ensures that verses you have memorized will be solid for your life or not.
- Manzil (Old memorization):
Apart from the chapter which you are learning the remaining memorized portion of the Quran is called Manzil. There should be a proper routine for reviewing the memorized part of the Quran. It should be recited to others or at least recited by yourself.
